What We Do

On Screen Manitoba supports the ongoing growth and development of Manitoba's motion picture industry by providing a number of services to its membership, including:

• Programs and initiatives designed for professional and corporate development, project promotion and market access;
• Promotional tools including newsletters, information bulletins via email, an annual production directory, and Association website with links to members;
• Valuable networking opportunities through the planning and hosting of industry events locally, nationally and internationally;
• Hosting of the bi-annual Blizzard Awards, an event which recognizes and celebrates the best in Manitoba film and video production;
• Access to resource materials and information regarding industry statistics, festivals, funding, training programs, and other opportunities;
• Helping members get in touch with one another year round for partnerships, mentoring, community development, and information sharing;
• Political lobbying at the local, regional and national levels with regard to policy issues and legislation that affect the motion picture industry.

Our Goals

The goals of On Screen Manitoba are:

• To promote the common interests of those engaged in the film and video production industry throughout Manitoba;
• To provide leadership and foster co-operation throughout the industry by providing a forum for discussion, decision making and policy development in the interests of all members of the industry;
• To gather and disseminate information relevant to the industry and promote public awareness of the benefits and values of the industry to the province of Manitoba;
• To foster a positive image of the industry in Manitoba and help create a favourable economic and artistic climate by communicating with government, corporations and other organizations;
• To promote rational legislation affecting the industry;
• To stimulate the development of educational opportunities in Manitoba related to the industry.
