Individual and Team Rules
Manitoba Residency and eligibility : Any person legally entitled to be and remain in Canada, and who is ordinarily a resident of Manitoba, and has been resident in the province for at least 200 days during the eligibility period (January 1, 2003 through to March 31, 2005) shall be considered as Manitoban for Blizzard Awards 2006. Each entrant in Craft and Performance categories shall abide by residency requirements as follows :
- A Resident Manitoban can enter work in any Craft and in any Performance category, regardless of where the work was produced, that is, a Manitoban is NOT limited to his/her work only on a Manitoba Production. (see Definitions : Manitoba Production)
- The Manitoba residency must coincide with the period during which the work was produced.
- A non-Manitoban can enter work only from a Manitoba production, that is, a non-resident IS restricted to entering his/her work ONLY on a Manitoba Production.
- Teams who worked on a Manitoba Production can include Manitoban and/or non-resident entrants.
No limit to entry numbers : Any number of applicable Performer and/or Craft categories can be entered for a single motion picture.
- Individual Performers, Individual Craftspeople, teams of Craftspeople or Presenters and/or producers, can submit applications on behalf of entrants.
All can submit entries : Performers and Craftspeople are encouraged to submit work for consideration by the Nominations Jury. Entries do not have to be submitted by a producer.
- To prevent any duplication of a production team entry for the same motion picture in the same category, an authorizing signature ( see Definitions ) is required on team applications identifying more than 2 entrants
Entry in Program category not required : Performer and Craft entrants need not have the motion picture entered in a Program category to be considered in a Performer or Craft category.
On-screen credit : An entrant in a Craft and Performer category must have received an on-screen credit in the relevant category on that motion picture .
- Submissions must include a list of relevant on-screen credits, and/or verification of credit by an Authorized Signing Person . (see Definitions)

General Requirements
Performer Categories include all people who appear in front of the camera, whether performing (drama) and/or presenting (non-fiction). The Presenting Award category includes individual and team entrants.
Head Shots and Production Stills : A Performer or Presenter entry should include a head shot clearly identifying the actor by name and by character, and the production title. As well, Performer entrants are encouraged to also provide a photograph showing the actor in costume and make-up. If a production still is not available, a Performing entry should include a 20-word synopsis of the role in the cued scene.
Lead or Supporting Performer: For the purpose of the Blizzard performing categories:
- A Lead role is a central figure in a story, including protagonist or antagonist and central roles in 'silent' motion pictures.
- A Supporting role is a secondary figure in a story, generally with at least six lines of dialogue, including cameos, and secondary roles in 'silent' motion pictures.

Actor playing a central figure, including protagonist or antagonist, in a dramatized story told using characters, either live-action or animated, re-created or re-enacted in any length film, program or series, regardless of budget or venue or method of distribution (including DVD).

Actress playing a central figure, including protagonist or antagonist, in a dramatized story told using characters either live-action or animated, re-created or re-enacted in any length film, program or series, regardless of budget or venue or method of distribution (including DVD). .

B3 Performing: Supporting Actor
Actor playing a secondary figure with at six lines or more of dialogue in a dramatized story told using characters either live-action or animated, re-created or re-enacted in any length film, program or series, regardless of budget or venue or method of distribution (including DVD).

B4 Performing: Supporting Actress
Actress playing a secondary figure with six lines or more of dialogue in a dramatized story told using characters either live-action or animated, re-created or re-enacted in any length film, program or series, regardless of budget or venue or method of distribution (including DVD).

B5 Presenting: NON-FICTION PRESENTER (Individual or Team)
An individual or a team including host/narrator, reporter, interviewer, anchor, broadcaster or sportscaster in a non-dramatic, factual representation of reality of any length including : documentary, reality, and practical how-to, light information, TV broadcast news, sports program or series, and real-time special events as well as segments and/or packages of edited, live-time material, commentary and analysis of issues.
- Presenter entrants (individual or team) may submit a program or a compilation to a maximum running time of 30 minutes.
- Presenting team includes news / sports / weather anchors to a maximum of 6 individuals.
