On Screen Manitoba in partnership with Rogers and Manitoba Film & Music awarded Ross McMillan (Winnipeg actor, playwright, and theatre director) with an oversized novelty cheque July 24, 2009 at the Rogers and Manitoba Film & Music $20,000 Pitch competition. Mr. McMillan was one of eight finalists, chosen from the 67 applications submitted, to participate in this first ever event, which took place at the Aspire Theatre during the 2009 Gimli Film Festival.
