M3P: Goals & Objectives

Under the M3P Project, the music and motion picture industries work together to develop cooperative and individual strategies for increased local, national and international market access, and business and professional development. These fundamental industry-wide initiatives are essential to increasing the competitiveness of the music and motion picture industries in a global, knowledge-based economy.

• To increase market access locally, nationally and internationally and to increase the profile of the music and motion picture industries as a whole and in the global market place.
• To support increased business skills and professional development to ensure long-term sustainability of the music and motion picture industries.
• To harness new technologies for the purpose of maximizing initiatives in marketing development, business development and professional development.
• To work towards achieving the critical mass required to retain skilled professionals and to support and strengthen the local music and motion picture infrastructures.
• To foster increased cooperation between the music and motion picture industries by providing new programs targeted towards marketing and business skills development.
• To provide a model for pan Western initiatives applicable to the broader music and motion picture industries in Canada.
