ABOUT THE SPEAKERSTrevor DoerksenCEO and Co-Founder, MoboVivo Inc.
Trevor Doerksen is CEO and Co-Founder of MoboVivo, the first Canadian company to sell television online and is a leading specialist in digital media and mobile entertainment. Dozens of networks and content owners have joined with MoboVivo to offer their content from the MoboVivo WebStore for download, on itunes or via mobile.
Trevor has been at the intersection of media and technology for nearly 20 years. He has investigated and developed large-scale implementations of streaming video and Internet TV for government and industry. His graduate research into flexible e-content and content repurposing lead to a multi-million dollar research project, a chapter in the 2002 “Handbook on Information Technologies for Education and Training” and the founding of MoboVivo Inc.
Trevor is also an experienced director and producer. He produced one of the first snowboarding films in 1989 and more recently was the executive producer of the science television series, SciQ: Science Revealed.
He holds a Bachelor of Education and a Masters of Science from the University of Calgary and is a frequent speaker on issues of digital media and mobile entertainment.

A lawyer and management consultant to the media industry, Kate Hanley has over 18 years experience as a senior executive in film, television and digital media. In 2006, she founded Digital Theory Media Consulting, a company focused on assisting traditional players develop strategies to compete in the emerging digital content marketplace. Clients include Telefilm Canada, Film Training Manitoba, On Screen Manitoba, the Nova Scotia Film Development Corporation, the Directors Guild of Canada (Ontario) and the Documentary Organization of Canada.
Kate’s executive positions include President and Past Chair, Women in Film and Television-Toronto, Vice-President of Programming and Business Development, Jim Pattison Trade Group, Director of Strategic Planning, NextMedia Consulting, Director of Marketing and Business Development, Vision TV, and Manager, Business Affairs at TVOntario.
Kate is a contributing writer for Playback Magazine and Broadcast Dialogue and a speaker on issues of digital media in Canada. She is former Chair of the Entertainment, Media and Communications Section of the Ontario Bar Association, Past Chair of the Women in Film and Television-Toronto Board of Directors and former Chair of the National Corporate Committee for Unicef Canada.
