The Summer Institute of Film and Television (SIFT) 2008 lineup just got a little bit hotter. This year at SIFT, Sarah Polley will receive the first-ever Anthony Minghella Memorial Award in front of SIFT faithful. The award recognizes outstanding contribution to Canada's screen industry. Her recent film AWAY FROM HER earned Sarah an Academy Award nomination for Best Adapted Screenplay, and she has won dozens of other awards including three Genies and a pair of Geminis. Sarah embodies a lot of what SIFT stands for: she is an inventive and fearless director, a brave and thoughtful screenwriter, and a skilled actress. This special evening is just one of many at SIFT 2008. Be sure not to miss these other notable guests.
