ON SCREEN MANITOBA is looking for a personable, detail-oriented multi-tasker to fill the key team position of Programs Coordinator for the Manitoba Music & Motion Pictures Development Project (M3P). The successful candidate will be able to work independently and within a team of equally passionate colleagues. The Programs Coordinator will serve our membership by administering ON SCREEN MANITOBA’s support programs and will have the opportunity to play a key role at a crucial and exciting time in ON SCREEN MANITOBA’s development.

RESPONSIBILITIES
Reporting to the Executive Director, the Programs Coordinator will be responsible for coordinating the Association’s programming and a few special projects.

Program Coordination:

  • Coordination of ON SCREEN MANITOBA’s Manitoba Music & Motion Pictures Development Project (M3P) support programs – specifically: ACCESS TO MARKETS, ACCESS TO FESTIVALS, PROFESSIONAL MARKETING FUND, PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT FUND, MARKETING PLAN PROGRAM, and STRATEGIC CONSULTING PROGRAM. Responsibilities include:
    • Developing a strong understanding of the programs goals, criteria, policies and processes and ensure these are met
    • Providing guidance to potential applicants, responding to inquiries, writing correspondence, reviewing applications to ensure they are complete and meet the criteria, coordinating juries, communicating jury decisions to applicants, documenting the applications in program spreadsheets, drafting funding agreements, processing final reports and working with the Operations Coordinator to issue payments
    • Maintaining program files, spreadsheets and other paperwork
    • Managing the budgets for the M3P funding programs
    • Preparing M3P Project written reports for funders and the Board of Directors
    • Assisting with preparing financial reports for funders
  • Promoting ON SCREEN MANITOBA’s programming to industry members
  • Posting information to the website and e-newsletter
  • Updating program guidelines
  • Assisting the Executive Director on major funding proposals and the development of new programs
  • Identifying potential sources of funding
  • Developing positive relationships with potential and existing funders
  • Completing applications for funding
  • Supporting the work of the member-led programming committee by coordinating meetings, preparing agendas, briefings and other materials

Special projects:

  • Assisting with various ON SCREEN MANITOBA’s projects including: SNAPSHOT 2008 - an economic impact study
  • Assisting the Marketing & Membership staff with coordination of events

Qualifications:

Our new programs coordinator will ideally possess:

  • A post-secondary education preferably in public administration, community development, business or communications or the equivalent combination of education and experience
  • 1-2 years program administration experience, working on variety of projects simultaneously
  • Experience in administering funding agreements and reporting requirements
  • Proven written and oral communication skills
  • Proficiency with computers is essential, particularly knowledge of Apple computers, Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook/Entourage
  • Work experience in the cultural industries
  • Experience in and knowledge of the Manitoba screen-based media industry is desirable

  • Tactful and demonstrate good judgment

Employment Conditions:

  • Term position to March 31st with contract extension dependent on funding
  • This is a full-time position with benefits (after 3 months of employment)
  • Hours of work are 9 am – 5 pm, Monday to Friday. Occasional weekend and evening work required.
  • The Programs Coordinator reports directly to the Executive Director
  • The initial three months will be probationary
