Congratulations to On Screen Manitoba Members Buffalo Gal Pictures and Eagle Vision for being chosen in the latest round of film projects to receive concept and script develpoment funding for 2008-2009 from Corus Entertainment!
December 15, 2008 – Toronto, Canada - Corus Entertainment is pleased to announce the latest round of film projects to receive concept and script development funding for 2008-2009 through the Corus Made with Pay Fund. This quarter, 23 feature film projects have been selected to receive funding.
Among the recipients, bestselling author Miriam Toews, a Governor General’s Literary Award winner, and screenwriting partner Semi Chellas (Murder on Her Mind) will receive funding for the feature film adaptation of Toews’ most recent novel, The Flying Troutmans. Sea Witches, a Shaftesbury Films/MacRury Here Productions project with screenwriter Malcolm MacRury (Deadwood, ZOS: Zone of Separation) is also a recipient of Corus Made with Pay funding.
Administered by Movie Central, this fund provides financial support to Canadian television and film productions at various stages of development. The Corus Made with Pay Fund approves funding for film projects on a quarterly basis. The next deadline for new applications is January 9, 2009. Funding for television series is determined on an ongoing basis.
