The University of Winnipeg Department of Theatre and Film is pleased to present its 10th Annual University of Winnipeg Student Film Festival featuring juried films made by post-secondary students registered in school between April, 2011 and April, 2012.
The Festival will take place Wednesday, April 25 through Friday, April 27, 2012 in Eckhardt-Gramatté Hall (3rd Floor Centennial Hall) at the University of Winnipeg. All Festival events are free and open to the public.
Selected films will be screened on Wednesday, April 25th and Thursday, April 26th from 7:00-10:00 p.m. We will post a full Festival Program here as soon as it becomes available.
The Friday evening Gala on April 27th will begin at 7:00 p.m. with the première of the UW senior filmmaking class film, Made for Each Other, written by Nicholas Friesen. Following that will be a presentation by our special guest (to be announced shortly), who will show selections from past and current projects and host a Q & A session. The Awards Ceremony, screening of award-winning films, and closing reception will round out this very special evening.
Students interested in submitting work to our jury should click here for the applicaiton form which contains complete information.
Prizes will be awarded for: Best Animation, Best Documentary, Best Cinematography, Best Director, Best Editor, Best Film, Best Screenplay, Best Sound, Best Actor, Best Actress, and Audience Favourite. Please note the eligibilty criteria for this year. Print out the application form and submit it in hard copy along with one copy of your film and a photocopy of your current student card. Complete a separate application form for each film.

The Submission Deadline is MONDAY, APRIL 9, 2012, 4:00 P.M. SHARP. ABSOLUTELY NO FILMS WILL BE ACCEPTED AFTER THIS DEADLINE.
