Source: Canadian Film Fest
We’re just a breath over two weeks away from the official relaunch of the Canadian Film Fest and here are a few updates for you.
TRAILERS - First, the trailers are up. Check out trailers of all our features and even some of our astounding shorts. There’s something in here for everyone. CLICK HERE FOR TRAILERS
TICKETS - Next bit of news is that tickets go on sale this Friday, March 16 for everything so visit TOtix to grab ‘em while they’re available. CLICK HERE TO GO TO TOTIX
PANELS - We have two panel discussions planned and they are as follows:
The State of the Canadian Film Industry
Friday, March 30 - 6:00pm
The State of the Industry panel reports helpful, relevant and informative facts to filmmakers and other industry professionals with the objective to further the Canadian Film Industry by assessing the state of things and discussing where to go next. How do we take advantage of the new opportunities available in the digital realm? The panel will focus on development, financing, distribution, and beyond...
Our goal is simple: to make sure Canadian filmmakers are prepared to reach their objectives and successfully produce and sell their films.
Canadian Genre Movie Scene
Thursday, March 29 - 6:00pm
A frank and candid discussion about the new wave of horror film directors in Canada. Why are so many emerging filmmakers turning to genre films (think: A LITTLE BIT ZOMBIE, HOBO WITH A SHOTGUN, SPLICE)? Why are audiences responding so well? The landscape of genre-filmmaking in Canada is in a state of flux so where is it going and where did it begin? What can filmmakers do to anticipate audiences’ desires? Join representatives from Anchor Bay entertainment, filmmakers and others in a panel discussion moderated by Toronto’s own Warren P. Sonoda (TODD AND THE BOOK OF PURE EVIL, SERVITUDE, UNRIVALED) for an enlightening look into the future of Canadian genre filmmaking.
Our special guests will be announced a week before the fest! That’s it for now but stay tuned, more to come!
