Posted: Apr 25, 2012 HBCA ARCHIVAL FILM SCREENING AT CINEMATHEQUE MAY 11-13

OSM member Kevin Nikkel's Hudson Bay Archival film project Return of the Far Fur Country will screen here in Winnipeg, at the Cinemateque, 100 Arthur Street, from May 11-14.
The Return of the Far Fur Country, is a collaborative project to resurrect a lost silent film created by the Hudson's Bay Company in 1920.
Showtimes will be:
- Friday, May 11 at 7pm
- Saturday, May 12 at 7pm
- Sunday, May 13 at 2pm
The film is one of the world's early documentaries and features unique footage of the lives of Arctic fur trappers in 1919. After long being forgotten, it's now been restored for modern audiences in Canada, including communities descended from those featured in the silent film.
