The President and CEO of the Canadian Media Production Association (CMPA), Norm Bolen, announced that Reynolds Mastin is being promoted to the position of Chief Negotiator and Chief Legal Officer for the CMPA, effective immediately.

In that role Reynolds will take charge of all of the CMPA’s labour negotiations and will continue to oversee other important matters such as Terms of Trade negotiations with broadcasters and the Canada Media Fund file. He will also manage the operations of the CMPA’s Toronto office.

In making the announcement Bolen said, “in the four and a half years Reynolds has been with the CMPA he has shown remarkable talent and leadership. An outstanding example of his contribution is our Terms of Trade deal with the private broadcasters and our accompanying member road shows. Reynolds’s attention to detail, focus on preparation, articulate expression and sharp intelligence are all qualities that make him an invaluable part of the CMPA team.”

Reynolds formerly held the position of Counsel for the CMPA. Prior to joining the CMPA he served as Legal Counsel for the Canadian Association of Broadcasters and articled at the Canadian Radio-television and Telecommunications Commission.

Reynolds completed his Common Law (LLB) and Civil Law (LLL) Degrees at McGill University and also spent an exchange semester at the University of Arizona. He has an Honours BA in International Relations from the University of Toronto and a B.Ed. from the University of Ottawa.
