Members and friends,Earlier today Premier Gary Doer on the election trail made an announcement of new money for film and television production and music. In summary - the NDP is promising further support for:MFS Equity fund: in the amount of $500,000. This is a recommendation MMPIA, ACTRA and MFS have been advocating for. NSI-Canada's New Voices and Story Tellers programs: for $100,000 (Congrats NSI!) Music industry: $200,000 for market access for the recording industry through MFS and MARIA. Urban Arts Program: doubling support to this program for live music, theatre, performing and visual arts programmingEarlier this week a new tax credit for New Media of 40% was also announced.
