CRTC takes action to ensure a wide choice of television programming on all platforms (September 21 Press Release)

The Red Tape Reduction Commission wants to hear your ideas on reducing the red tape burden and is inviting you to participate in an on-line questionnaire.

The Commission was established by Prime Minister Stephen Harper in January 2011 with the mandate to address irritants experienced by businesses in dealing with federal regulators and to identify lasting (systemic) solutions to these red tape issues.

Between January and March 2011 the Commission consulted with businesses to identify top of mind irritants and potential lasting solutions. We are now seeking your views on the solutions proposed during the first round of consultations.

In general terms it appears minimum requests for investment in Canadian programming were met and could result in as much as $880 million to finance Canadian programs within the first year of the licence term.
