On Screen Manitoba

This is a valuable software tool for the entire costume department to use and share. Whether it’s a key costumer looking up scene wear notes, or an assistant designer checking on actor fitting details, Sync OnSet allows multiple users to collaborate in a new and exciting way, and is available for iPhones and iPads.

For this one-day advanced camera workshop, the instructors will break participants into groups and then rotate them through three different RED Epic set-ups. Each set-up will allow participants to simulate a real-world camera scenario. Towards the end of the workshop, participants will review the footage that was shot throughout the day.

The main duties of an assistant director are to assist the director, coordinate all production activity, and supervise the cast and crew on production. The AD is considered the key link between the director and the cast and crew, and also the liaison to the production office, providing regular progress reports about the production.

Over the course of two days, participants of this course will learn about the roles and responsibilities of an assistant director.

Participants will undergo an extensive hands-on approach to develop the technical skills needed for the positions of director or photography, camera operator, lighting/grip, sound/boom operator, and 1st assistant director. The participants will have the opportunity to be mentored by an established professional crewmember on a one-on-one basis.

Over the course of three evenings, you will have a chance to sit down for 30 mins with Scott Albert and discuss your project, your career, and the latest trends in web series and transmedia. This is a unique opportunity for Manitoba’s film and television industry to benefit from a sit down with an experienced screenwriter and web series creator.

The Human Resource Training Fund was designed to assist Manitoba production companies by providing support for customized training initiatives that are specific to their needs. The HR Training Fund is a positive step forward for Manitoba’s film industry because it allows local companies to design their own training, under the guidance of FTM.

This workshop is invaluable for all documentary researchers, writers, directors and producers to learn about navigating the world of research and clearances. Learn the latest on how to obtain, reduce costs and limit risks using stock footage, stills and recorded
music.

Film Training Manitoba in partnership with DOC Winnipeg is offering a Research and Rights Clearance Workshop at Red River College on March 17 2012.

In this Master Class presented on March 9 by Freeze Frame International Film Festival for Kids of All Ages in partnership with Film Training Manitoba and the National Film Board of Canada, Ariel will share his experiences on how best to produce and make films in a potentially hostile environment. He will discuss the various legal implications and barriers that might arise while working in a country like Afghanistan.
