ADMINISTRATIVE COORDINATOR POSITION AVAILABLE
Salary:
$29,367 per annum. Based on 32 hours per week – starting salary $17.00 per hour

Position begins:
Friday 30th January 2009. Orientation will be provided by the outgoing Administrative Coordinator.

MANDATE aceartinc.
is an Artist Run Centre dedicated to the development, exhibition and dissemination of contemporary art by cultural producers. aceartinc. maintains a commitment to emerging artists and recognizes its role in placing contemporary artists in a larger cultural context. aceartinc. is dedicated to cultural diversity in its programs and to this end encourages applications from contemporary artists and curators identifying as members of the LGBT, Aboriginal (Status, Non-Status, Inuit and Metis), and all other culturally diverse communities.

Responsibilities include:
• work with the Board of Directors and Programming Coordinator to meet the Mandate and Objectives of the organization
• plan, revise and maintain of the global budget of aceartinc. (under the direction of the board of directors and with ongoing consultation with the Programming Coordinator)
• manage all routine bookkeeping and accounting procedures with the support of the contract bookkeeper
• prepare and present monthly financial reports for the Board of Directors
• prepare financial/budgetary aspects of all funding grant applications, including special project and employment applications
• develop, plan and coordinate fundraising endeavors in conjunction with the fundraising committee
• coordinate and maintain all volunteer, donor and membership activities
• general office management activities, including liaison with visitors, maintaining office and gallery supplies, coordinating shipping, transport and travel activities of visiting art/artists.
• network and liaise with advocacy groups locally, provincially and nationally

Qualifications:
ability to work responsibly with budgets
• excellent government and foundation grant writing skills
• dedicated interest in and/or experience working within Canadian artist-run-centres or not-for-profit groups
• excellent organizational skills
• strong working knowledge of various computer programs for Macintosh including Word and Excel
• preference will be given to practicing artists
