In the summer of 2009, Canadian journalist, adventurer and filmmaker Cameron Dueck sailed the infamous Northwest Passage on his yacht, the Silent Sound. Following the voyage, Great Plains Publications published his story, which was later developed into an award-winning documentary film. Now, in partnership with the World Wildlife Fund, the expedition from Victoria, British Columbia to Halifax, Nova Scotia, is being retold as an iOS App for iPad and iPad mini.

The Year Dolly Parton Was My Mom, co-produced by Buffalo Gal Pictures has been selected for the third Beijing International Film Festival.

Local documentary filmmaker Charles Konowal creates an intimate portrait of singer/songwriter Scott Nolan’s songwriting process in the documentary Chasing a Song which premieres at Cinematheque on April 18th at 7pm. The screening will be introduced by both Charles Konowal and Scott Nolan, with a Q & A session to follow. Chasing A Song will then be available on MTS TV on demand, Stories From Home, beginning April 19th.
