In May of 2012, OSM member Danishka Esterhazy, Rebecca Gibson, Ashley Hirt and Rebecca Sandulak gathered to discuss the possibility of launching a production company focusing on female‐driven projects of the highest artistic calibre. Red Czarina Productions was born, and just a few months later, the team is set to embark on production of their first film.

The first ever winner of the RBC Emerging Filmmaker Award was announced last night at the Gimli Film Festival. Five hopeful filmmakers pitched their short film projects to a panel of professional film producers and a large, enthusiastic audience in the darkened auditorium of Gimli Theatre.
