Industry-wide Strategy Session - Sept 28th
On Friday, September 28th, the Manitoba Motion Picture Industry Association (MMPIA), Film Training Manitoba (FTM) and MANITOBA FILM & SOUND (MFS) will be hosting an Industry-wide Strategy Session. This will be an all-day (9:00 to 5:00) meeting during which we will explore the opportunities and barriers to growth faced by Manitobans in the film and television industry and build consensus around addressing them. The results of this session will be used by MMPIA, FTM and MFS to develop a strategy to take the industry to the next level and will inform programming for the 2008/09 year and beyond. We would truly value your input.

Urgent Response Required!
Dear members,
In preparation for our 20th Anniversary MMPIA is compiling a listing of the top 20 award winning film and tv productions from the last twenty years. Preparing this list is tougher than we realized and we'd like your help.
Your help needed!
The best way for us to collect a list of award winning productions from the last 20 years is for the producers and filmmakers to provide us with this info directly.
Please send us info on your award-winning Manitoba-made productions!
We are looking for productions made between 1987 and 2007 that have won 'Best of' awards for the entire production. Unfortunately given the brevity of the list we are not able to include craft awards. Feel free to send this info anyways as we are intending to build a databank of Manitoba production community achievements! Please include:
Name of your production:
Type of award won:
Category:
Year:
Milestone productions
We are also looking for milestone productions. If you think your production helped the Manitoba community 'break ground' and reach a new level please send us a little description of why you think that. An example might be My Life As a Dog - the first dramatic television series to be filmed and produced in Manitoba.
We need this info to
