Cinematheque will be closed for regular programming from July 8 - 24 as the venue will be used by the Winnipeg Fringe Theatre Festival. To view our upcoming programming beginning July 27, check out our online calendar.

The Winnipeg Film Group (WFG) will be able to upgrade its equipment, thanks to support from the Government of Canada. This was announced today by Rod Bruinooge, Member of Parliament (Winnipeg South), on behalf of the Honourable James Moore, Minister of Canadian Heritage and Official Languages.

An evening of new films by Winnipeg filmmakers and an opportunity to connect and network with other local filmmakers!

In this, three day hands-on workshop, participants will work one on one with acclaimed Winnipeg filmmaker Deco Dawson, delving into the creative possibilities Final Cut Pro affords the user in working with difficult, messed up or “blah” footage.

In 2010, the Winnipeg Film Group sent three filmmakers to Cologne, Germany for a two week residency at our sister organization, the Kölner Filmhaus. In May 2011, three filmmakers from Cologne will be completing a residency at the Winnipeg Film Group, working to develop projects and connecting with the local film community.
