Our Committees Terms of Reference

Executive Committee

A standing committee of the OSM Board to act in the name of the full board when it is not in session, dealing with emergencies that require immediate attention or when the full board cannot be convened. The Executive Committee also delegates responsibilities to and monitors the progress of other board committees, ensuring alignment with the strategic needs of Manitoba's media production industry.

Governance and Nominations Committee

A standing committee of the OSM Board that provides guidance on governance and ensures the board’s composition reflects Manitoba’s media production industry’s diverse needs and demographics.

Finance Committee
A standing committee of the OSM Board that oversees both the financial affairs of the organization and the annual audit process. The committee ensures that financial management practices align with the strategic priorities of Manitoba's media production industry and that the organization remains in good financial health and is financially transparent and accountable.

Government Relations and Regulatory Affairs Committee
A standing committee of the OSM Board that provides guidance and information to the Executive Director on government relations and regulatory issues, ensuring policies and regulations support Manitoba's media production sector.

Membership Committee
A standing committee of the OSM Board that provides guidance to the Executive Director on matters related to membership, including categories, rates, recruitment strategies, and services designed to support Manitoba’s media production professionals.

Producer Committee

A standing committee of the OSM Board that offers producers a structured forum to discuss industry-specific concerns and communicate them to the OSM Board. The committee provides a platform for collective advocacy and feedback on the challenges facing Manitoba’s producers.

Programs Committee
A standing committee of the OSM Board that provides guidance to the Executive Director on programs, including the Access Funds, Sector Council Program, and ACSC Program, ensuring these initiatives directly benefit Manitoba’s media production workforce and infrastructure.
