Business Affairs Workshops for Emerging Producers and Filmmakers

Designed for emerging producers and filmmakers, this evening workshop series provides clear, practical guidance on key business and legal considerations in media production. Sessions support sustainable production planning and help participants navigate industry processes with confidence.

This training program is offered in partnership with the Winnipeg Film Group.

Session 1: Intro to Business Affairs

This introductory session offers a practical overview of core business affairs topics in media production, including legal considerations and company structure.

Session 2: Film Production Tax Credits

Learn how tax credits fit into film production planning, with guidance on permit and insurance requirements you need to know before production begins.

  • OSM and WFG members: $20 + GST

  • Non-members: $35 + GST

Full Series Package

  • OSM and WFG members: $70 + GST

  • Non-members: $150 + GST (includes one-year membership starting April 1)
