StoryLab xR – Kick-Off & Info Session

Who should attend

• Manitoba residents, age 18+

• Identify as Indigenous, Francophone, or from another underrepresented community

• Interested in film/TV production and learning Virtual Production

About the program

StoryLab xR is a hands-on training program for emerging talent from underrepresented communities. Participants will work with experienced industry professionals to create a short project using Virtual Production at New Media Manitoba’s StudioLab xR.

Training includes

• Worldbuilding with Unreal Engine 5

• Story development

• Production design

• In-camera visual effects

Application requirements

• Short bio (background or interest in audiovisual media)

• Statement on why you want to participate

• Description of the experiences or stories you want to tell

Selection process
A diverse committee from New Media Manitoba, On Screen Manitoba, and invited mentors will review applications. Priority is given to building a cohort with a range of perspectives and backgrounds.
