Business Affairs Series provides practical training on Manitoba’s film tax credit system
Winnipeg, MB — On February 10, 2026, On Screen Manitoba hosted Session 2 of its Business Affairs Series, offering emerging producers and filmmakers practical, real‑world guidance on how Manitoba’s film tax credit program fits into production planning. The film tax credit remains one of the province’s strongest tools for attracting screen‑based projects and supporting local employment.
Brian Clasper, Director of Film Financing & Tax Credits, and Tyson Poshtar, Tax Credit & Deeming Analyst at Manitoba Film and Music, provided participants with a clear understanding of eligibility requirements, deeming criteria and application timelines. The session emphasized how these components influence a project’s financing strategy and overall production plan, with space for detailed questions and applied discussion.
Participants also heard from Adam Shalaby, Commercial Relationship Manager at RBC, who outlined the interim financing requirements necessary for productions to advance. His presentation included guidance on CAVCO Part A certification and how it enables bridge financing based on the anticipated value of eligible tax credits — a key step for producers preparing to move their projects into production.
